Enfield's half term is 26 to 30 October, but three schools are off from 19 October. Capel Manor's Halloween, Town Park fireworks and Dugdale shows, priced.
Enfield Council’s October half term is Monday 26 to Friday 30 October 2026. That is the week for most primary schools and for Latymer, Winchmore and Kingsmead. Highlands, Southgate School and Ashmole Academy break up a week earlier, on Friday 16 October, so their pupils are off for two weeks. Enfield Grammar takes the council’s week and the one after it, to Friday 6 November. Enfield County, Oasis Hadley and Edmonton County each start a day or two early. The full school-by-school table is on our Enfield school term dates page.
That split changes what you can do. The week of 19 to 23 October is quiet, with the big Halloween days not yet running and most of the borough still in school. The council’s week is the busy one: Capel Manor’s Halloween runs all six days, the Dugdale Arts Centre’s half-term shows land midweek, and the Town Park fireworks close the week on Saturday 31 October. The clocks go back on Sunday 25 October (GOV.UK), so the second week is darker by teatime.
Every date and price here comes from the venue’s own listing, checked on 25 September 2026.
The quick answer

Enfield Town Park’s fireworks are on Saturday 31 October, gates 5pm, display 7pm, no tickets on the gate.

The two big Halloween days out
Capel Manor Gardens, Bullsmoor Lane, EN1 4RQ. The Halloween Spooktacular is on every day from Monday 26 to Saturday 31 October, 10am to 4pm with last admission at 2pm. The ticket covers a haunted trail through the 30-acre gardens, a horror maze inside the Manor House run with The Dread House, crafts, live entertainment, a disco tent, animal talks in the mini zoo, a sweet treat, and one pumpkin and one bouncy castle token for every paying child. Pre-booked prices are £12 for adults, £16 for a child aged 2 to 15, under-2s free, with booking fees on top. On the door it is £15 and £20, and door-ticket pumpkins are subject to availability. Friends of Capel Manor get in free with 20 per cent off child tickets online. There is no pumpkin carving this year; instead, 45-minute pumpkin painting sessions run on the hour from 11am to 3pm at £3 a child, pre-book only. Parking is free (Capel Manor Gardens). Last year’s version drew more than 4,500 visitors across the week, by the gardens’ own count.
For adults, Capel Manor After Dark on Friday 30 October is a torch-lit ghost tour of the gardens from 6pm to 8pm with a private tour of the Manor House, the archives, a glass of Forty Hall Vineyard wine and nibbles. It is 18-plus, £40 plus booking fee, pre-book only, and the ticket includes daytime entry from 10am (Capel Manor Gardens).
Town Park Fireworks, Enfield Town, Saturday 31 October. This year’s display is a Halloween Spooktacular rather than a Bonfire Night event: gates 5pm to 8pm, fireworks at 7pm, last entry 6.30pm, and no tickets sold on the gate. The box office moved these times later in late September. Prices, the road closures around the park and the resident-only streets are on our Enfield fireworks page.
Dugdale Arts Centre, Enfield Town
The council’s arts centre in Enfield Town has a run of half-term events in the council’s week, all bookable through its box office (Dugdale Arts Centre):
- Baby Gospel Family Concert, Sunday 25 October, 11am. Members of London’s CK Gospel Choir sing Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley and gospel standards for babies, children and grandparents, as a Black History Month special.
- Papertunity Recycled Art Workshop, Tuesday 27 October, 12pm. A Black History Month craft session using recycled paper and mixed media, ending in a collaborative piece.
- The Mystery of Dugdale Arts Centre, Wednesday 28 October, 12pm. An interactive, board-game style murder mystery from the makers of I Believe in Unicorns, where the audience examines evidence and interrogates suspects.
- Learn to Solve the Rubik’s Cube, Saturday 31 October, 10.30am, a 45-minute session for adults and children aged seven and over, cubes provided.
- Learn to Juggle and Plate Spinning, Saturday 31 October, 11.30am, also for ages seven and over.
- Trick & Treat Circus Live, Saturday 31 October, 11.30am. An hour-long, scare-free Halloween show with magic and circus, costumes encouraged; £14 adults, £12 children.
- Halloween Ghost Art Workshop, Saturday 31 October, 1.30pm. An hour making a flying paper-plate ghost, £9.50 for a child with an accompanying adult.
Also at the Dugdale but for grown-ups: LDN Wrestling’s October Showdown on Friday 30 October, and Oktoberfest with The Stompin’ Steiners on Saturday 24 October, doors 6pm, £14 including a pretzel and half a pint.
Forty Hall, Forty Hill, EN2 9HA
Rip’s Bone Trail runs Thursday to Sunday, any time between 11am and 4pm, until 31 October: children hunt hidden bones through the house and mark them on a map, £3 a child, paid at reception (Forty Hall Estate). The house is open Thursday to Sunday, 11am to 5pm, the grounds daily from 8.30am, and the car park is free but locked at dusk; those are the summer hours, which run to 31 October, so the last day of half term is the last day of them (Forty Hall Estate). The farm is open at weekends from 11am to 3pm.
On the first weekend after the council’s week, Forty Hall hosts two Diwali workshops on Sunday 1 November: a keepsake box session at 11am and a festive wall-hanging session at 1.30pm, bookable for adults, children or both (Dugdale Arts Centre listings). Before half term, on Saturday 17 October, there is an adults-only pumpkin paint-pour workshop, 1pm to 3pm, £40.
Chickenshed, Southgate, N14 4PE
Chickenshed’s Saturday storytelling show Tales from the Shed runs at 10am and 11.30am on Saturday 24 October, 45 minutes, for ages 0 to 6, from £7 with babies under six months free (Chickenshed). Its Halloween edition, Halloween Tales, runs Monday 26 to Thursday 29 October at 10am and 11.30am, 45 minutes, for ages 0 to 6, from £7, with fancy dress encouraged (Chickenshed). Sunday Shed drop-ins for ages 4 to 7 run on Sundays to 25 October.
Millfield Theatre, Edmonton
Millfield’s half-term offer is the tail end of its autumn season rather than a family programme: Lights, Camera, Murder on Friday 30 October and a K-Pop Power and Pop Idols: Spooky Edition show on Sunday 1 November (Millfield Theatre). The Christmas panto, Beauty and the Incredible Beast, does not open until 4 December; see our Enfield pantomime page.
Free days out
Myddelton House Gardens, Bulls Cross, EN2 9HG is free to enter, open daily 10am to 4pm, with parking at £3 (Lee Valley Regional Park). In previous half terms it has run a free pumpkin trail across the week; nothing is listed for October 2026 yet, and its next dated events are Christmas wreath-making from 27 November.
The parks. Trent Park, Grovelands Park and Forty Hall’s grounds are free and open all day, and Forty Hall’s Rip’s Bone Trail is the cheapest ticketed thing on this page at £3.
What to check before you go
- Whose week is it. The two-week schools are quieter in the first week and busiest in the second, when everyone else is off too.
- Capel Manor’s last entry is 2pm, two hours before it closes, and pumpkin painting slots are limited.
- The fireworks close Town Park from late morning on 31 October and the streets around it from 3pm.
- Myddelton House’s pumpkin trail is the one listing still to appear; nothing was on Lee Valley’s page on 4 October.
Getting around: Enfield train times to London, parking in Enfield and Enfield roadworks and travel.
